THE PORT BOCA GRANDE LIGHTHOUSE

The island’s lighthouse, built in 1890, was initially intended to guide ships safely into the Port Charlotte Harbor and marks the southern tip of Gasparilla Island.

Today, this is the only lighthouse available to the public on the west coast of Florida. While still a working U.S. Coast Guard Light, the lighthouse is also on the National Register of Historic Places and is home to a museum filled with the rich history of Gasparilla Island.

There is no admission fee, but a $3.00 donation to the

State Park is requested.
